As of December 11th 2005 the Vulkan bus from the RMV (Rhine Mosel Transport Corporation) runs daily between Mayen and Mendig. The Volcano Park offers the whole year round interesting insights into the subject of volcanology. The many attractions can be reached easily with the 312 bus line.
The Vulkan bus starts at the East Mayen railway station and goes via Etrringen/Ettringer Lay, the Röderhöfe, Bell and Maria Laach to Mendig.
With the bus you can reach many of the Volcano Park attractions, such as the Lava Dome, without having to have a car.

By train to the Information Centre Rauschermühle
From Andernach station take the TransRegio to Plaidt. For exact train times please contact the deutsche Bahn. The journey takes between 6 and 7 minutes. The TransRegio runs hourly. From the station it’s about 20 minutes on foot through Plaidt to the Information centre.
