Roman burial chambers have been discovered at Nickenich and in Ochtendung. The burial chambers, elaborate rotunda, were built completely from tuff stone and testified to the wealth of the person buried within. The stone came from the Roman stone mine at Meurin. At each location one burial chamber has been reconstructed.
