Booser
Doppelmaar |

Near Boos there are two large shallow basins in the landscape, the Booser Maare. These were created by the explosive confrontation of ascending hot magma and water. In outcrops the strata laid down by the volcanic eruption can still be seen today. The Booser Maare are also an exemplary model of how the landscape was cultivated. Flora and fauna are explained in just as much detail as the significance of the Booser region in Roman times, when a high holy place upon the Schneeberg overlooked the Maare.
